Chinese Workers in Indonesia Allowed to Partake in National Strategic Projects

They have been hired by PT Virtue Dragon Nickel Industry and PT Obsidian Stainless Steel in Sulawesi.

The workers are involved in the building of a factory or the installation of the factory’s infrastructure.

The Indonesia government has reassured the public that the Chinese workers are highly skilled engineers and technicians.

The information was shared by Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower’s Aris Wahyudi on June 18.

Ida Fauziyah has also reconfirmed the presence of the Chinese workers in Indonesia, adding that their skills are needed.

The workers will be working alongside local workers for the transfer of knowledge.

“The end goal is for our local workers to understand the technology being used thus future operations can be handled by them,” said Ida.

Aris Wahyudi mentioned that the workers will be working for a maximum of six months in Indonesia before returning to China.

The Ministry of Manpower together with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights are banding together for the surveillance of the Chinese workers.
