PEKANBARU, KOMPAS.com - An Indonesian Air Force fighter jet crashed into a residential area in Siak Hulu Subdistrict, Kampar Regency on Sumatra Island on Monday morning. No fatalities were reported.
This was confirmed by the Head of Kubang Jaya Village, Tarmizi, who only goes by one name. Tarmizi said that the crash did not cause any casualties but the fuselage damaged two empty houses in Mutiara Sialang Indah housing complex. The house owners are rarely at home; one lives in Pekanbaru and the other in Indragiri Hulu Regency.
"Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), we are thankful that all of our residents are safe and the pilot has also survived the accident,” Tarmizi told Kompas.com.

The ejector seas struck another house, causing damage to its roof.
The village head said he was still unclear about the conditions of the three houses as the police cordoned off the area.
Earlier on Monday, Air Force Spokesman First Marshal Fajar Adriyanto said that the pilot, First Lieutenant Apriyanto Ismail of the Squadron 12, ejected safely from the aircraft when the crash occurred near Runway 36 of the Roesmin Nurjadin Air Force Base.
“The pilot has been transported to Dr. Soekirman Air Force Hospital of the Roesmin Nurjadin Air Force Base in Pekanbaru for further observation,” Fajar said in a statement.
The crash involved a British-built BAE Hawk 209 fighter jet and registered as TT-0209. The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
