JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesia's Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said Indonesia will welcome the arrival of 3.8 million AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine on Monday night, April 26.
Indonesia receives the vaccine from AstraZeneca under the COVAX program, which is supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) and GAVI vaccine alliance to provide vaccines to poor and middle-income countries.
"We will receive 3.8 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine under the GAVI scheme," Budi told a streamed news conference Monday.
"Next month, we will secure another shipment of 3.8 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine twice,” Budi continued.

Also, the government still expects to receive about 10 to 15 million doses of the Sinovac vaccine to conduct the mass vaccination program in April and May following a discussion held by the Indonesian President Joko Widodo and the Chinese Prime Minister Xi Jinping.
"To all levels of regional leaders, let's start vaccinating again after putting the brakes on for a bit due to the insufficient supply," Budi said.

"The supply for May will be plentiful so we have to immediately reinstate the vaccine injection rate to normal," continued Budi.
Budi hopes that before Indonesia commemorates its Independence Day on August 17, a great number of people have been vaccinated.
Previously, the Food and Drug Agency (BPOM) has issued an emergency use authorization (EAU) for the use of the Covid-19 vaccine from AstraZeneca in Indonesia.
