Indonesian Teen Shot in Mysterious Shooting in West Java

CIREBON, KOMPAS.com - A 16-year-old teenager (RS) was shot in the shoulder and was taken to a Cirebon hospital for medical treatment in Indonesia's West Java on Tuesday, March 9. 

"The victim was shot once in the shoulder in the wee hours of Tuesday," Head of the Cirebon City Police Criminal Investigation Unit I Putu Asti Hermawan told Kompas.com on Wednesday, March 10. 

Asti said the teen is believed to be a victim of an air rifle shooting, but the shooter remained unknown.

Upon receiving a distress call, he immediately deployed some police members to the crime scene for further investigation. 

Meanwhile, investigators then spoke to the victim at the hospital. Asti could not provide much information and a complete chronology of the incident as the officers are still investigating the mysterious shooting.
