The National Police’s ethics trial was chaired by the Head of the National Police’s Intelligence and Security Service, three-star general Ahmad Dofiri, and attended by Sambo and 15 witnesses.
The 15 witnesses comprised Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan, Brigadier General Benny Ali, Senior Commissioner Budhi Herdi, Senior Commissioner Agus Nurpatria, Senior Commissioner Susanto, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Ridwan Soplanit, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Arif Rahman, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Arif Cahya, Commissioner Chuk Putranto, and Adjunct Commissioner Rifaizal Samual.
Two witnesses from the Police’s Special Task Force that Sambo had led were Hari Nugroho and Murbani Budi Pitono.
Three other witnesses -- police officers Richard Eliezer and Ricky Rizal as well as Sambo’s housemaid Kuat Ma'ruf -- were suspects in the murder case of Brigadier Joshua.
In the murder case, which caused a national uproar, Joshua, 27, was reportedly shot several times by his boss, Sambo, and his colleague, Richard Eliezer. Sambo gave the order to conduct the shooting that took place at his official residence in Jakarta.
