Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo said in addition to maximizing vaccination as a temporary and permanent measure in controlling FMD, the government continues medical treatment for sick cattle and farm disinfection in the effort to suppress FMD transmission. Syahrul expressed gratitude for the attention and major contribution of all parties in controlling FMD.

Syahrul said that several aspects of the agricultural sector were discussed following the visit of Australia’s Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry Minister.

“We discussed various issues, including global issues, challenges of climate change, and the needs of the two countries in agriculture security for Indonesia and Australia,” he said.
