TERNATE, KOMPAS.com - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is scheduled to inaugurate the new terminal of Kuabang Kao Airport in North Halmahera Regency on Wednesday, March 24, an official said recently.
To ensure the smooth running of the event, all preparations and supporting facilities have been done by the North Maluku Provincial Government by holding a joint meeting with relevant agencies and the North Halmahera Administration on Saturday, March 20.
"Several agreements related to the event have already been made. According to the head of Kuabang Kao Airport, all the technicalities for the inauguration event are under the purview of the Ministry of Transportation,” said North Maluku Regional Secretary, Samsuddin Abdul Kadir, in a statement, Saturday, March 20.

“However, the airport has asked the Provincial Government and the North Halmahera Administration to provide technical support regarding the arrangement of events.”
Samsuddin emphasized that road access to the airport, guest vehicles, and guests will be handled by the local administration and supported by the provincial government.
Besides, the nearby Sultan Babullah Ternate Airport has also been activated as an alternative in support of President Jokowi's arrival on Wednesday.
The Indonesian Military (TNI) and Indonesian Police (Polri) are working closely to ensure security and safety in the area.
"The subregional military command (Korem), regional police, airbase commander (Danlanud), and the state intelligence agency (BIN) in North Maluku will hold a technical meeting to anticipate other possibilities during the visit of the president," Samsuddin added.
The plan for the working visit is also for President Jokowi to inspect the panels and airport facilities, as well as review the implementation of mass vaccinations at the local health centers.
For the implementation of the mass vaccination in North Halmahera District, the local health office has prepared 100 participants to be vaccinated. The process will be carried out by three vaccinator teams centered at the Kao District Office.
