KOMPAS.com – Indonesia's Badung Regent I Nyoman Giri Prasta proposed a solution to revitalize the tourism sector, especially in Badung Regency, Bali, as its economy has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tourism has been the hardest hit by the coronavirus outbreak following travel restrictions around the world and the implementation of partial lockdown in Indonesia, forcing people to stay at home.
Bali is one the hardest-hit areas in Indonesia, as around 60 percent of its gross regional product comes from tourism.

“The Badung Administration and the Bali Provincial Government, and the central government will launch vaccine tourism,” said the Tourism and Creative Economic Minister Sandiaga Uno on Friday, February 12.
The vaccine tourism program will allow tourists to get the Covid-19 shot while traveling in Badung Regency.
The vaccine tourism is slated to take place after the country's mass inoculation program and independent vaccines have been implemented.
“We are all ready to join hands in support of the national economic recovery program. Insya Allah [God willling], we will arrange it. Together we can revive tourism in Badung Regency in particular and Bali in general,” said Sandiaga.

The Minister also mentioned other programs that should be done together, including events and stimulus programs such as tourism grant.
“It has been running since last year (tourism grant), but there are still a few grants left, so we will try to carry on this year. The scope will also be increased and expanded by implementing labor-intensive programs and tourism villages,” he added.
