Rapid Antigen Tests at Train Stations in Indonesia

KOMPAS.com – If you’re taking a long-distance journey this year-end holiday, don’t forget to bring your rapid antigen test results.

Luckily, several train stations in Indonesia offer the rapid Covid-19 tests helping travelers making a journey between December 22, 2020 and January 8, 2021.

State-owned company and main train operator, Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), provides the rapid Covid-19 tests for only Rp 105,000.

Here is a list of the train stations in the country offering rapid antigen tests:

1. Gambir Station, Central Jakarta
2. Pasar Senen Station, Central Jakarta
3. Kiaracondong Station, Bandung
4. Cirebok Prujakan Station, Cirebon
5. Tegal Station, Tegal
6. Semarang Tawang Station, Semarang
7. Yogyakarta Station, Yogyakarta
8. Surabaya Gubeng Station, Surabaya
9. Surabaya Pasar Turi, Surabaya

To avoid potentially long queues and any hindrances to your journey, travelers are advised to take the rapid Covid-19 tests one day in advance at any of the train stations in Indonesia.

This is partly because the results of such tests require more time than an antibody test.

“The provision of this service is a symbol of KAI’s commitment to supporting the national government’s measures to enforce strict health protocols on train services,” said KAI EVP Corporate Secretary Dadan Rudiansyah.

Making available rapid antigen tests at train stations in Indonesia is to provide convenience for train users even though they can also obtain such tests at hospitals or clinics.

“We would like to remind passengers to be disciplined when adhering to Covid-19 protocols to ensure that train services remain a safe, comfortable, and healthy transportation mode for travelers.”

For year-end holiday travelers in Indonesia to use the country’s train services, they must be in a healthy condition.

Travelers are required to wear a face mask and not have symptoms such as the flu, cough, runny nose, fever, and a body temperature above 37.3 degrees Celsius.

For Indonesian travelers embarking on a long-distance journey this Christmas and New Year’s, KAI recommends wearing a face shield and to wear long-sleeved apparel.
