December 11, 2020, 07.21 PM – The popular mangrove forest in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), Jakarta is open amid the Indonesian capital city’s transitory large-scale social restrictions (PSBB).

Locally known as Mangrove Nature Park, our Jakarta travel guide takes you up north near the elite PIK area to feature this spectacular site to visit.

With the central government and Covid-19 Task Force recommending that families avoid traveling for Christmas and New Year’s, now is the perfect time to visit this Indonesia mangrove forest in Jakarta city.

In keeping with the transitory PSBB regulations, the number of visitors has been limited and so has the operational hours.

All entrance tickets to the location must be bought directly at the park, but here is the catch: If the park has reached its visitor capacity, staff will stop selling entrance tickets where visitors will have to take turns with exiting guests.

Visiting the Indonesia Mangrove Forest in Jakarta

As part of our Jakarta guide, it should be noted that when visiting the nature park, you will be required to abide by certain Covid-19 health protocols which we’ve listed below:

  • Face masks are mandatory
  • Washing hands with soap under running water or disinfecting hands with hand sanitizer before entering the mangrove park in Jakarta are required
  • Visitors must be in a healthy condition meaning no fever, no cough, no flu, and have a body temperature below 37.3 degrees Celsius
  • Pregnant women, children under 5 years of age, and adults over 60 years old are not allowed entry
  • Visitors are required to listen and follow the instructions of officers of the nature park
  • Visitors who fail to adhere to the health protocols during their trip to the nature park will be escorted outside the vicinity

For Muslim visitors who intend to visit during prayer times, there are new regulations on the use of prayer rooms as listed below:

  • Visitors are required to bring their own necessities for prayer
  • Visitors are required to bring their own bag to store their footwear
  • No gathering of any sort before and after the prayer

With the transitory PSBB making it possible for the mangrove forest in PIK, Jakarta to reopen during Covid-19, you can include this location on your year-end holiday itinerary.
