KOMPAS.com – Since opening its doors to domestic travelers, Tanah Lot and Pandawa Beach have become the top favorite places to visit in Bali in the new normal.
Bali began allowing domestic travelers to enter the island on July 31, but it remains closed to foreign travelers.
“If we see the visitor data, many tourists went to Tanah Lot and Pandawa Beach. Each destination saw a 15-17 percent increase in the number of visitors,” said Putu Astawa, Head of the Bali Tourism Agency.

Putu said that visitors chose those two places to visit in Bali because each location was interesting and offers its own unique view of nature. Tourists were also keen on visiting Bali Zoo in the new normal.
Crowded Kintamani
Excited tourists were also seen crowding the Kintamani region of Bali where many came to visit Batur Lake.
“Kintamani has been quite crowded with travelers visiting the lake. Local and domestic travelers were seen there.”
Locals at Indonesia’s Island of Gods have been permitted to visit tourist attractions in Bali since July 9 while foreign tourists were originally planned to be allowed entry beginning September 11, but the plan was later canceled.

Bali Governor I Wayan Koster explained that Bali will reopen its tourism sector gradually.
“We are preparing ourselves gradually and cautiously reopen our tourism sector. We want to avoid having new Covid-19 infections on the island, otherwise it could tarnish Bali’s image as a tourism destination. We need all hands on deck from the stakeholders of our island’s tourism sector.”
