This popular area is the Mecca of culinary recreation in Indonesia’s capital city where locals and tourists frequent the place to satisfy their cravings.
Pecenongan is one of the points that the Jakarta government’s free buses stop at after dropping passengers off at Sawah Besar.
After arriving at the Pecenongan Bus Stop, you can proceed for another five minutes to enter the gateway of culinary travels in Jakarta.

1. Kwang Tung Congee
Kwang Tung is a town in Hong Kong and it was purposely used to name this restaurant in Jakarta to attract the Chinese-Indonesians in the area when it first began operations in 2003.
Kwang Tung Congee restaurant offers 21 types of congee using beef, chicken, shrimp, fish, and crab.
Trying their crab congee is one of the things to do in Jakarta thanks to its quality fresh crabs used in the ingredients. The rice congee itself has a smooth texture and is flavorful after being cooked for two hours.

During the weekends, the restaurant can go through 25 large-sized pans amounting to 500 large bowls of congee.
Each portion is complete with fried peanuts, soy sauce, slices of fresh chili pepper, and ginger. A portion of this Pecenongan food staple can serve up to three people with prices ranging from Rp 25,000–Rp 109,000.

2. Martabak 65A
Eating martabak (Indonesian pancakes) is just one of the unique things to do in Jakarta with friends and family, and the Martabak 65A food stall is a great place to taste the best of this tasty dessert.
The food stall has been operating since 1970 and offers a Bandung-style Indonesian sweet pancake with topping options of cheese, Toblerone chocolate, peanuts, and others.
Although the food stall opens at 6pm, a queue begins to form at 4pm thus it is suggested that you visit around that time to avoid the long line.

Martabak 65A closes at midnight during which they would have gone through 200 pans of Indonesian sweet pancakes that sell for an average of Rp 100,000.
They also make available Indonesian savory pancakes topped with fillings such as mozzarella cheese. Martabak 65A is located at Jalan Pecenongan 65A, Central Jakarta.
3. Sri Rostika Coconut Rice
Your culinary adventures in the Pecenongan area is not complete without a visit to Sri Rostika Coconut Rice that opens from 6pm until 1am every day.
Established in 1978, this popular Jakarta food stall in Pecenongan is always packed full of hungry diners.
Complement your coconut rice with grilled fish, fried chicken, tofu, tempeh, squid, duck, and other side dishes at this food stall in Jakarta.

4. Chinese and Seafood 99
One of the fundamental things to do in Jakarta with friends at night is eating seafood and the Chinese and Seafood 99 food stall is the place to go.
Operating since 1972, the food stall has been a favorite among the locals especially during the weekend.

You can select a variety of seafood options such as sweet and sour fish, crab in Padang sauce, fried squid, or squid in Singapore sauce.
