The respondents’ outlook for the economy is just as bleak. “40.3 percent of participants said they are satisfied with the state of the economy, while 2.3 percent state they are extremely satisfied,” the survey went on.
“In contrast, the 49.7 percent of respondents said they are dissatisfied, while 6.2 percent stated that they are extremely dissatisfied.”
The respondents reserved their most scathing verdict for law enforcement. “54.4 percent of respondents said they are dissatisfied with the Jokowi administration’s track record on law enforcement, while 10.2 percent said they were extremely dissatisfied.”
“In contrast, 30.2 percent of respondents said they are satisfied with the government’s handling of law enforcement, with 2.1 percent of participants saying they are extremely satisfied. Another 3.1 percent of respondents said they do not know.”
The Kompas survey was carried out by telephone with 529 respondents age from 17 up in 80 regencies and cities in Indonesia’s 34 provinces. The survey is 95 percent accurate with a 4.3 percent margin of error.
