“On September 17, the minister underwent swab test and the result was positive,” said a Special Staff to the Minister of Religious Affairs Kevin Haikal in a statement.
“But, Alhamdulillah (thanks be to God), he is in a good state of health and there is no worrisome symptom,” Kevin said, adding that the minister remains in self-isolation.
“Please pray for his speedy recovery and hopefully the results of the next swab tests will be negative so that the minister can carry out his duties again,” he said.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Ministry of Religious Affairs Oman Fathurahman said the minister has also instructed his deputy and relevant officials to continue the ministry’s programs.
“The minister is concerned with the implementation of the ministry’s programs, especially in helping to stem the spread of Covid-19 in the religious education institutions and religious organizations,” said Oman.
Fachrul has asked the relevant departments to ensure the smooth running of the distribution of the social assistance to the targeted recipients as coordination among the officials in the ministry can be done via online meetings.
The minister urged members of the public to follow the health protocols amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Anyone can contract Covid-19. Let us empathize with others, strengthen each other, and follow the health protocols. Hopefully, this pandemic can be resolved soon,” he said.
