KOMPAS.com – Indonesia imposed travel restrictions on three other countries namely Denmark, Norway, and the UK, bringing the total number of countries with entry prohibitions to 13 amid concern over the Covid-19 variant omicron.
This was brought up by Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno during a weekly press briefing on Monday, Dec. 20.
Hong Kong, however, has been taken out of the list.
“Initially, 11 nations have already been banned from entering [Indonesia]. But, Hong Kong has been removed from the list,” said Sandiaga.

“Three other countries [with entry prohibitions] comprise the UK, Denmark, and Norway.”
The government’s decision on travel restrictions has changed the entry ban list in a move to reduce the risk of the importation and transmission of Covid-19 omicron variant related to international travel.
Foreign nationals who have been in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Mozambique, Eswatini, Malawi, Angola, Zambia, the UK, Denmark, and Norway are not be allowed to enter Indonesia.

Indonesia has detected three Covid-19 omicron variant cases following the Health Ministry’s announcement last week.
The government confirmed that the three cases of omicron variant are all imported cases with travel history from Nigeria, South America, and the UK.
